As well as welcoming huge international acts, Caribana Festival also seeks to showcase quality local acts and Hell's Kitchen, who play on 9 June at Caribana, fit that bill perfectly. The Geneva trio bring classic urban blues with rough edges as evidenced by their most recent record Mr Fresh. The third release continues their quest to "de-Claptonise the blues" with a return to the rough roots of blues and away from calculation and musical theory. The neo-blues act were once memorably described by the Tribune de Genève as "as exhilarating as a bottle of 30 year old single malt" and, as veterans of the Paleo, Eurockéennes and Montreux festivals, they bring an energetic and accomplished live show.
