Mama Rosin
Roots Cajun / Switzerland
Geneva-based Mama Rosin bring their Cajun-tinged rock to Caribana for what is sure to be an electric live experience.
The trio released their second album Brûle Lentement on Voodoo Rhythm Records in March 2009, underlining their status as eclectic music style. Indeed, their fusion of blues, calypso, cajun, African and Caribbean has led critics to describe them as "Deep Louisiana Black Roots meets Velvet Underground and Daniel Johnston".
The band are also stage veterans, having played 120 gigs in 2008 including a support slot for the legendary Stray Cats in the iconic Paradiso venue in Amsterdam and a performance during EURO 2008 in Vienna.
