Micky Green

Soul Pop / Australia
Born Michaela Gehrmann, Australian Micky Green has forged a hugely successful career in France, Switzerland and beyond with her catchy minimalist pop.

She left her native Sydney for Paris in 2004 to pursue a career as a model but soon decided to return to her first love, making music. Thus, in 2007 she released her debut album White T-Shirt. Propelled by the smash hit single Oh, White T-Shirt sold over 180,000 copies as well as picking up a Victoires de la Musique nomination.

Now in 2010, Micky has returned with her second release Honky Tonk. Speaking of the more mature sound of the release, she has said: "I had more of an idea of how to write a song, or even playing live…I wanted my music to be more lively and rhythmic” and "When I found myself in the studio for White T-Shirt, I did not really know how to exploit every opportunity available to me. This time, I had more confidence in me and really knew how to realise what I had in mind."
With lead single TL (True Love) already getting heavy airplay, Honky Tonk another slice of pop perfection, with Green telling Australia's Daily Telegraph: "It's more upbeat than the first album so I hope that people like that; it's a bit more colourful."
