Lea Lu
Chanson / Switzerland
Born Lea Dudzik, the Zurich singer-songwriter has Polish, Spanish and French roots and, although only 26, is already a music veteran.
She started playing the violin at just five and later added singing, piano and guitar to her musical skills. In her teens she fronted the jazz-pop outfit Nexus and played the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Her first solo show in 2007 was an instant success with NZZ am Sonntag declaring that "listening to her music is like a summer's barefoot walk along the beach."
She released the EP Hawaii in 2008 and her debut album Dots and Lines on Sony Music followed in September 2009. A synesthete, she literally sees music as colours.
