Polar

Chanson / Switzerland
Polar, real name Eric Linder, may have an Irish mother and a Swiss-German father but he has just released his second French-language album.

His first album Polar I was recorded in his kitchen and released in 1996 while two years later Bi Polar showcased a more ambient and electronic sound. His 2002 release Sonatic showed even further progression with stronger melodies and more sophisticated arrangements.

The former athlete decided to undergo another transformation in 2002 with the Geneva-based singer deciding to sing in French, which led to the 2006 release Jour Blanc, featuring lyrics written by Christophe Miossec.

The follow-up French Songs has been described as his most accomplished record to date and reveals a more orchestral sound with also traces of his Celtic roots and features the single Assez Pour Nous.
