Joining the great names of Keziah Jones and Gossip at the Caribana Festival: the equally remarkable Lou Reed.
Lou Reed will perform on the main stage of the festival on Friday June 8th 2012. Founder of the Velvet underground, partner of Andy Warhol and inspiration for David Bowie, Lou represents glam rock at its best, and guarantees an exceptional show. With well-known hits like “Walk on the Wild Side”, “Vicious” and “Satellite of Love”. Lou - together with Neil Young - is the only artist of the 60’s who has succeeded in reinventing his music in a meaningful and contemporary way.
Kasabian
Kasabian will be performing on Thursday, June 7th 2012 on the main stage of the Caribana festival.
Kasabian is an English rock band formed in Leicestershire in 1997. The band features vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist Sergio Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews. The band has released four studio albums – Kasabian, Empire, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, and Velociraptor. Their music style, characterized by a fusion of indie rock and electronic genres, rough vocal style and psychedelic motives, is often compared to that of Primal Scream, The Stone Roses and Oasis.
Pony Pony Run Run
Pony Pony Run Run will light up the festival by performing on the main stage on Wednesday June 6th 2012.
Pony Pony Run Run is a French electro-rock band with a dance-punk style. Founded in Nantes, France, in 2003, the band is a trio comprised of Gaëtan Réchin Lê Ky-Huong (aka G; guitar, vocals), Amaël Réchin Lê Ky-Huong (aka A; bass), and Antonin Pierre (aka T; keyboards). Citing a long list of influences ranging from Nirvana and Michael Jackson to Daft Punk and Pavement, Pony Pony Run Run made their full-length album debut in 2009 with “You Need Pony Pony Run Run". In 2010, Pony Pony Run Run was nominated for the Revelation of the Year award at Les Victoires de la Musique awards. Having just released their second album simply named “Pony Pony Run Run”, they will make you dance Wednesday, June 6th by performing on the main stage of the Caribana festival.

Gossip at Caribana June 6th 2012
Lesbian, feminist, punk. Beth Ditto, the underground singer of the band Gossip has become within a few years a true rock icon. Performing an exclusive concert in Swiss Romand at the Caribana festival, June 6th 2012, the show promises to be explosive. Crazy and sublime, her stage performances are very close to a feminine version of Iggy Pop. For sure a concert you should not miss!
Go wild with Motherrockers
Representing the local band, they will nevertheless make a lot of noise and won’t go unnoticed June 6th at Caribana. Motherockers was founded end of 2010. A heavy and crude, burning riffs, alien solos, a powerful rhythmic section, screaming orge and a charismatic singer. Those who appreciate metal, heavy rock or stoner will be pleased to discover this band.
Rouge FM becoming Caribana’s radio partner
Rouge FM has become Caribana’s 22th edition radio partner. A series of radio programs, interviews, infos, show cases in their venue in Lausanne will be done before, during and after the Festival. Yes FM and Rouge TV will also be part of the partners.
